EPA: Studies show that EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), found in deep sea, cold water fish is essential for cardiovascular health and is beneficial for reducing inflammation that causes disorders such as arthritis, asthma and allergies.
Cardiovascular Health: Numerous studies show that EPA is beneficial for heart health by reducing the risk of sudden death from heart attacks. Omega-3 helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels. The American Heart Association even recommends that "people who have elevated triglycerides may need two to four grams of EPA and DHA per day provided as a supplement."
Psychotherapeutic Action: Although in its early phases, studies have show that EPA may be beneficial for depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Omega-3 has also been shown to reduce mood swings and improve concentration.
DHA (docosahexaneoic acid) is a major building block of cells in the brain and in the retina of the eye. It supports a healthy brain and good vision.
Protection Against Stress: DHA has been proven beneficial in reducing stress. It also protects against the increased risk of heart attack as a result of stress.
Learning and Cognition: According to clinical trials, insufficient amounts of DHA in the body may be a risk factor for age-related cognitive impairments like Alzheimer's Disease. Sufficient amounts of DHA may increase one's cognitive abilities.
